In view of the state's traditional Kharchi Festival and to facilitate the movement of passengers during the festive period, a special train service will operate between Agartala and Dharmanagar from July 22 to July 28.
According to the schedule, Train No. 05640 will depart from Agartala at 5:10 a.m. every day and arrive at Dharmanagar at 8:45 a.m. On the return journey, Train No. 05639 will leave Dharmanagar at 9:30 a.m. and reach Agartala at 1:20 p.m.
The special train will halt at Jogendranagar, Jirania, Teliamura, Mungiakami, Ambassa, Jawaharnagar, S.K. Para, Manu, Nalkata, Kumarghat, Pecharthal, and Panisagar stations en route.
The temporary train service is expected to provide much-needed relief to passengers travelling between Agartala and North Tripura during the Kharchi Festival, making travel more convenient amid the anticipated increase in passenger traffic.
Meanwhile, Tripura Minister Ratan Lal Nath expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, and the Ministry of Railways for introducing the special train. He said the initiative would significantly help manage the additional rush of passengers during the festival and ensure a smoother travel experience for the public.
