Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday said that Tripura is moving ahead on the path of good governance, administrative reforms and inclusive development, with the government focusing on improving the lives of people across the state.

Addressing a development programme organised by the Khowai District Administration at Khowai Town Hall, the Chief Minister said the present government is giving priority to key sectors including road connectivity, drinking water, electricity, agriculture, rural development, urban development, information technology and social security.

“Tripura is progressing rapidly in terms of good governance and administrative reforms. The state is now competing with fast-developing states of the country,” Dr. Saha said.

During the programme, the Chief Minister inaugurated several development projects worth around Rs 8.9 crore under different departments, including Social Education and Social Welfare, Rural Development, Drinking Water and Health, and Urban Development. He also distributed eight smart OPD kits under the Health and Family Welfare Department.

Dr. Saha highlighted the launch of a subsidised mortuary vehicle service, saying the initiative would provide relief to economically weaker families who often face financial difficulties while transporting bodies from hospitals. Under the scheme, people will have to pay Rs 1,000 per trip, while Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) families will pay only Rs 500.

The Chief Minister said the government’s objective is to ensure that development reaches every village, household and section of society. He added that various projects worth nearly Rs 1,500 crore were inaugurated or had their foundation stones laid across the state during the last financial year.

Emphasising the vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas”, Dr. Saha said the government is working with transparency and accountability to ensure the benefits of welfare schemes reach the people.

He further stated that Tripura has witnessed growth in GSDP, improved law and order, and significant infrastructure development. “The state is moving forward with a strong work culture and commitment towards public welfare,” he added.

The programme was attended by ministers, MLAs, district officials and other dignitaries.
