On International Women’s Day, the Tripura Pradesh Mahila Congress voiced strong criticism against the BJP government.
They alleged that women’s rights in the country are increasingly being undermined under BJP rule, and incidents of violence against women are on the rise.
To mark the occasion, the Tripura Pradesh Mahila Congress organized a program at the Tripura Pradesh Congress office in Agartala. The event aimed to demand women’s safety, protect women’s rights, and uphold the secular principles of the Constitution, while calling for a united effort to change the BJP-led government at both the state and central levels.
During the program, leaders of the Pradesh Mahila Congress expressed concern over the alarming rise in violence against women under the BJP governments at the center and in the state. They highlighted that reports of brutal attacks on women are frequently emerging from different parts of the country, raising serious social concerns.
The leaders further alleged that in many cases of violence against women, BJP party workers’ names were implicated. They urged everyone to unite in protest to ensure the safety and rights of women.
The program concluded with a call for all women to come forward and lead a larger movement for women’s rights and safety, starting from International Women’s Day itself.
