The High Commissioner of Bangladesh to India, M. Riaz Hamidullah, is set to arrive in Tripura today on a three-day official visit, during which he will meet Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and visit key connectivity points between India and Bangladesh.
According to sources in the Chief Minister's Office, the High Commissioner will be in the state from August 1 to 4 as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral ties and review cross-border infrastructure projects.
Upon his arrival at M.B.B. Airport on August 1, he will pay floral tribute at Albert Ekka Park in Agartala, followed by a visit to the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission.
Later in the day, the envoy is scheduled to visit the Integrated Check Post (ICP) at Agartala and the Akhaura Land Port. In the evening, he will call on the Tripura Chief Minister at his residence.
On August 2, Hamidullah will travel to Ashuganj and the Deputy Commissioner's Office in Brahmanbaria, Bangladesh. He is also expected to inspect the Nischintapur Railway Station, part of the upcoming Akhaura–Agartala rail link, which is poised to boost cross-border rail connectivity.
The following day, August 3, the High Commissioner will meet Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu at Raj Bhavan. He will then proceed to South Tripura to visit the Sabroom Integrated Check Post and the Maitri Setu — a symbol of growing Indo-Bangla connectivity and cooperation.
He is scheduled to return to New Delhi on August 4, concluding his Tripura tour.
