The Students' Federation of India (SFI) on Friday staged a protest march in Agartala, demanding immediate action to ensure corruption-free environments across the state's college campuses.
The rally, organized by the SFI’s Sadar divisional committee, began in front of the Students Youth Building and moved through key streets of the capital city.
Leading the protest was the organization's divisional secretary, who voiced strong concerns over alleged irregularities plaguing college campuses.
Addressing the gathering, the SFI leader claimed that a “hive of corruption” has developed within the college ecosystem. “Through this protest, we are drawing the government’s attention to the urgent need for clean, transparent campus administration,” he said.
He further alleged that the student wing of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is “immorally occupying student councils” across colleges. “These councils must be dissolved immediately. They have turned educational institutions into breeding grounds of corruption,” he added.
The protest march concluded with a call to the state administration to initiate strict action against corruption in higher education institutions and restore democratic functioning within student bodies.
