Tripura Chief Minister and Home Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday reiterated that India has always stood for peace and never initiates conflict—but remains fully prepared to respond decisively to any aggression.
Addressing a public event in Agartala, Dr. Saha emphasized that India’s commitment to peace is deeply rooted in its history and cultural ethos.
“If we look back, India has never attacked any country. It’s not in our DNA to resort to violence,” he said.
However, he made it clear that any hostile action against the country would be met with a strong and measured response.
Referring to the recent terror attack on civilians in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, he said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government has taken swift and effective action.
“In response to the terrorist strike, we have dismantled nine terror camps inside Pakistan territory. These were not ordinary Pakistani citizens, but elements involved in orchestrating attacks on India. The Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy coordinated this operation with precision,” Dr. Saha said.
He also mentioned that Operation Sindoor was initiated despite a ceasefire being in place, signaling India’s uncompromising stance on terrorism. “The war against terror is ongoing. While we do not want violence, we will not hesitate to act when provoked,” he added.
