Pradesh Congress MLA and former minister Sudip Roy Barman today launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of being unwilling to listen to the concerns of the people despite frequently addressing the nation through his radio programme Mann Ki Baat.
Speaking during a door-to-door leaflet distribution campaign aimed at countering Mann Ki Baat, Roy Barman said, “The Prime Minister regularly speaks his mind to the people, but shows no interest in listening to their voices. He is ignoring the anguish of citizens, while democracy is being systematically stifled across the country. People from all walks of life—youth, farmers, and labourers—are facing deep financial distress.”
The Congress leader also alleged that the rising prices of essential commodities have pushed them beyond the reach of ordinary citizens.
“This government has turned a blind eye to the suffering of the poor. Instead, it continues to safeguard the interests of the wealthy. The leaflets we are distributing have been prepared based on real conversations with people about their hardships. The public response has been overwhelming, and there is growing discontent against the BJP,” he added.
Roy Barman further claimed that while people are eager for political change, many are reluctant to express support for the Congress due to fear of retaliation.
“Despite the oppressive and authoritarian tactics of the ruling party, people are looking to the Congress for an inclusive and people-centric alternative. The demand for change is growing louder across the country,” he asserted.
