Tripura Agriculture Minister to inaugurate first-ever organic buyer-seller conference on July 9

In a significant push to strengthen the organic agriculture sector, Tripura will host its first-ever State-Level Organic Buyer-Seller Conference on July 9, 2025, at Hotel Polo Towers, Agartala

The event will be inaugurated by Ratan Lal Nath, Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of Tripura, who will also attend as the Chief Guest.

The landmark event is being organized by the Tripura State Organic Farming Development Agency (TSOFDA) under the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of Tripura.

This pioneering initiative is expected to serve as a turning point in Tripura’s journey to becoming a hub for organic produce. It will bring together reputed organic buyers from across India and abroad, offering them a unique opportunity to directly engage with organic Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) from the state.

The conference aims to foster meaningful collaboration and build long-term market linkages.

A major highlight of the event will be the showcase of Tripura’s premium organic produce, including the celebrated Queen and Kew Pineapples, aromatic rice varieties like Kalikhasa and Harinarayan, the rare Black Rice (Maimi Hangar), Sticky Rice (Biran), Bird Eye Chilli, Fragrant Lemon (Gandharaj), along with Sesame, Ginger, Turmeric, Foxtail Millet, and several other certified organic crops.

This first-of-its-kind platform not only marks a milestone for Tripura but also opens new market avenues for its farmers. By directly connecting producers with high-value buyers, the conference aims to boost farmer incomes and elevate Tripura’s organic identity to national and global platforms.
