Tripura recorded 401.0 mm of rainfall in June 2025, marking a 6% deficit from the state's long-term average of 425.9 mm, according to the Meteorological Centre in Agartala.
Despite the shortfall, the rainfall pattern was classified as “normal” for the month.
The state experienced rain on 25 days during June, with monsoon activity categorized as active on 5 days, normal on 13 days, and weak on 12 days — indicating a generally stable but mildly inconsistent monsoon pattern.
Compared to June last year, when the state received 371.7 mm of rainfall, this year saw a marginal increase. Among all districts, South Tripura emerged as the wettest, receiving 596.7 mm of rain — 23% above normal. Sabroom, located in South Tripura, reported the highest cumulative rainfall at 729.8 mm.
However, there were notable extremes. Nutanbazar in North Tripura registered the highest single-day rainfall of the month with 296.2 mm on June 1. Meanwhile, Sepahijala district recorded the lowest rainfall in the state, with a sharp 43% deficit.
In terms of temperature, the highest maximum temperature of 36.4°C was recorded at Agartala Airport on June 10. The average maximum temperature for the month was 33.2°C, which is 0.5°C above normal. The lowest minimum temperature dipped to 23.0°C on June 3, with the average minimum temperature standing at 25.3°C — 1.0°C above the norm.
