The Tripura Industrial Development Corporation (TIDC) has set an ambitious profit target of ₹13 crore for the financial year 2025–26, Chairman Nabadal Banik announced at a press conference on Monday.
Highlighting the state government’s efforts to transform TIDC into a profit-making organization, Banik said the corporation has been steadily improving its financial performance — recording profits of ₹4.02 crore in 2022–23, ₹7.33 crore in 2023–24, and ₹9.87 crore in 2024–25.
He also announced that initiatives have been undertaken for the development of seven new industrial areas across different parts of Tripura to boost industrialization.
“TIDC has set a profit target of ₹13 crore for the upcoming fiscal. We are working in line with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha to make the youth of Tripura self-reliant,” Banik said.
He stated that various central and state government schemes — including Yuva Tripura, Natun Tripura, and Atmanirbhar Tripura — are gaining popularity among the youth, particularly in rural, hilly, and urban areas, enabling them to become entrepreneurs.
Banik also stressed that the Corporation is focusing on multiple priorities:
Reviving closed industrial units
Acquiring and re-allocating idle units to new entrepreneurs
Increasing rent collection from industrial estates
Improving managerial efficiency
Formulating investment-friendly and industry-oriented policies
At present, TIDC manages 13 industrial estates across the state and allocates land to industries. The development of seven additional industrial areas is underway.
In a major infrastructure boost, Banik informed that the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a loan of ₹975.26 crore for developing modern industrial infrastructure in nine key industrial zones — Bodhjungnagar, RK Nagar, Dukli, Nagichhara, Kumarghat, Dharmanagar, Dewanpasha, Dhujanagar, and Sarasima. Work in these areas has already commenced.
He also noted that permissions, licenses, and approvals for industrial activities are now available through a single-window online portal, streamlining the application process. Additionally, security measures, including enhanced night patrolling, have been strengthened in industrial hubs like Bodhjungnagar and RK Nagar.
Speaking at the same press conference, TIDC Managing Director Dr. Shailesh Kumar Yadav said that 10,000 individuals have been trained under the Chief Minister’s Skill Development Project to ensure a skilled workforce is available for new and existing industrial units.
