In a major boost to the tourism sector in Tripura, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for various tourism projects worth Rs 115 crore in the coming few days, said Tripura Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Tuesday.
Minister Chowdhury said another feather is being added to the tourism map of the state.
“An exact replica of the 51 Shakti Peethas will be built at a cost of Rs 97.70 crore at the initiative of the state Tourism Department in Bandowar, Udaipur under Gomati district. The Chief Minister, Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, will be present at the groundbreaking ceremony of this project in the temple city of Udaipur on July 10. Today, I went to inspect the area along with the District Magistrate of Gomati, Director of the Tourism Department, and other officials,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Tourism Minister said that the Tourism Department is continuously making efforts to facilitate tourists and place the state's tourism industry on the world map.
He said that, in this regard, the Tourism Department is also paying special attention to infrastructural development.
“Keeping this goal in mind, the Chief Minister will lay the foundation stones for various tourism infrastructure development projects worth Rs 18 crore. Additionally, the work of renovating the Kasba View Lodge, which had fallen into a dilapidated condition, has already started in the premises of the Kasbeshwari Temple located in Kamalasagar under Sepahijala district. The construction work of this lodge will be completed in the next few days,” said the Tourism Minister.
He added that today, along with the MLA of the area, the Director of the Tourism Department, and other officials, he inspected the construction work of the tourist lodge on the spot and directed that the work be completed within the specified time while maintaining the quality of each component.
