Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee President Asish Saha today demanded to Director General of Police to conduct an impartial investigation of chhota Surma's Ashish Das murder case by setting up an S.I.T headed by an I.P.S. officer.
In a letter to the DGP Anurag, PCC Chief Saha said that the sensational murder case of Ashish Das of chhota Surma, Dhalai Tripura. Ashish Das was murdered on 17th June 2025 and his dead body was found near a brick-field owned by some Souvik Das.
“Yesterday I visited the residence of deceased Ashish Das and met with his father Sri Chittaranjan Das and mother Angur Bala Das along with many local people. The bereaved parents of the deceased Das and the local people are of the opinion that some politically influential land mafias are behind the murder. The parents of the deceased person and local people demand justice to the helpless family of the deceased by awarding exemplary punishment to culprits”, he said.
Saha has claimed that it has also been alleged that the husband of the local MLA's hands in gloves with the murderers.
“In view of the above Tripura Pradesh Congress demands for an impartial investigation of the said murder case by setting up of S.I.T headed by a senior I.P.S officer”, the letter added.
