Northern Range DIG Rati Ranjan Debnath conducted a detailed inspection of several police stations in North Tripura district on Friday to assess ongoing law and order management and policing efficiency.

During the visit, the DIG inspected Kadamtala Police Station, Churaibari Police Station, and Panisagar Police Station. He reviewed overall functioning at each station and evaluated field-level policing activities, including patrol duties and response mechanisms.

He was accompanied by North District Superintendent of Police Avinash Rai, subdivision police officers, and senior district police officials.

Speaking to the media during the inspection, DIG Debnath said that reviewing law and order across North Tripura, Unakoti, and Dhalai districts is part of his routine supervisory responsibilities as part of the Northern Range. He added that the current inspection was part of this ongoing monitoring process.

A key focus of the visit was the implementation of the “beat system” in police stations. The DIG assessed whether officers, constables, and SPO personnel were effectively carrying out regular beat patrolling duties as mandated, emphasizing improved ground-level policing and accountability.

He also held extensive discussions with police personnel, listening to their operational challenges and requirements. The DIG issued guidance aimed at improving efficiency, discipline, and professional conduct in day-to-day policing.

Concluding the visit, he stressed the importance of delivering faster police services and strengthening a more citizen-friendly policing system across the region.
