An 85-year-old resident of Chaudhuripara under Satchand subdivision under South District has raised concern over the alleged discontinuation of his government old age pension for the past three to four months, leaving him in financial hardship during his vulnerable years.


The beneficiary, Jay Kumar Tripura, stated that the monthly pension was his only steady source of income for managing essential daily expenses. He said the sudden stoppage of payments has caused severe difficulty in meeting basic needs.

Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue by approaching the concerned government offices, he claimed that no effective response or resolution has been provided so far.

He further alleged irregularities in the distribution process, pointing out that while newly approved beneficiaries are reportedly receiving pensions on time, several long-standing recipients have been deprived of payments for months without clear explanation.

The elderly man has urged authorities to clear the pending dues and restore the pension at the earliest. Local residents have also appealed to the administration to look into the matter urgently and ensure that eligible senior citizens are not deprived of their rightful social security benefits.
