The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy to very heavy rainfall warning for several districts of Tripura from August 21 to August 25.

According to the forecast, the South district will witness heavy to very heavy rainfall (7–20 cm) at one or two places on August 21, 22, and 23, while the rest of the districts are also likely to receive heavy rainfall (7–11 cm) during the same period.

From August 24 to 25, the intensity of rain is expected to expand further, with South, Gomati, and Sepahijala districts predicted to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two locations. Other districts of the state may also witness heavy showers.

The IMD has advised residents in low-lying and flood-prone areas to remain cautious as continuous downpours may lead to waterlogging, disruption of road communication, and localized flooding. Farmers and fishermen have also been urged to take necessary precautions.

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have been asked to remain on alert to tackle any emergency arising due to the heavy rainfall.
