A poor family from the Diari area under Mandai constituency has been struggling to survive after their house was severely damaged during a recent cyclone accompanied by heavy rainfall. Strong winds reportedly tore off the roof of their home, causing the structure to collapse.

Following the incident, the local MLA visited the affected family and assured them of government assistance. However, the family alleges that despite the promise, no financial aid or relief materials have been provided even after a considerable delay.

The affected household, which belongs to an economically weaker background, has been forced to take shelter in another person’s home due to unsafe living conditions. They say the situation has left them in constant uncertainty and hardship.

Speaking to the media, family members urged the government to expedite relief support and help them rebuild their home. They emphasized that without permanent housing arrangements, their daily lives remain deeply unstable.

Meanwhile, the incident has sparked concern among local residents, with some demanding that the administration respond more quickly and effectively to families affected by natural disasters.
