Tripura Cooperation Minister Shukla Charan Noatia on Tuesday chaired a crucial review meeting at his official chamber in the Secretariat, Agartala, to expedite the establishment of the proposed New Medical College at Jolaibari.
The upcoming medical college is being developed under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) of the Minority Welfare Department, with the objective of strengthening healthcare infrastructure and expanding medical education facilities in Tripura.
During the meeting, the minister reviewed key aspects of the project, including the blueprint, land allocation, infrastructure requirements, and other necessary arrangements to ensure smooth and timely implementation.
Senior officials from various departments participated in the discussion and shared progress updates and valuable inputs. Those present included the Secretary of the Health Department, Government of Tripura; Secretary of the Minority Welfare Department; Chief Engineer of PWD (Building); Joint Director of Elementary Education; and Deputy Director of Minority Welfare.
Minister Noatia highlighted the state government’s commitment to improving healthcare services and creating modern medical facilities across Tripura. He said that the project would play an important role in strengthening the state’s healthcare ecosystem and providing better opportunities for medical education.
The proposed medical college at Jolaibari is expected to become a significant milestone in Tripura’s efforts to emerge as a leading healthcare hub in the region.
