The NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination was held peacefully on Sunday across 10 centres in Tripura amid stringent security measures. Of the total centres, nine were located in West Tripura district and one in Dhalai district.
West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar, after inspecting arrangements at Kendriya Vidyalaya, stated that the examination process was proceeding without any disruptions.
"The re-examination is being conducted smoothly under the supervision of National Testing Agency (NTA) officials. Students entered their examination halls by 1:30 PM, and biometric attendance systems are functioning efficiently. No complaints or untoward incidents have been reported so far, and all necessary facilities have been provided at the centres," he said.
Officials informed that approximately 4,500 candidates are appearing for the re-examination across the state.
To maintain order and ensure a conducive environment for candidates, the District Magistrate imposed restrictions under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). The order aims to prevent disturbances caused by gatherings and the use of loudspeakers near examination venues.
As per the directive, only candidates with valid admit cards, invigilators, teachers, and authorized personnel are allowed within a 100-yard radius of the centres. Gatherings of five or more people have been prohibited in the restricted zones.
The order also bans individuals, except security personnel, from carrying sticks or similar weapons near the examination centres. Authorities have warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone violating the restrictions.
West Tripura Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak said extensive security arrangements were made for the examination. Personnel from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), Tripura State Rifles (TSR), and Tripura Police have been deployed at all centres to ensure smooth conduct of the test.
With robust administrative and security measures in place, the NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination is progressing peacefully across Tripura.
