The NEET (UG) examination will be conducted again on June 21 across the state, with strict security arrangements in place, officials announced during a press conference held at the Secretariat conference hall today.

According to Ravell Hemendra Kumar, Special Secretary of the Higher Education Department, the examination will be held across 10 centres in total—9 centres in West Tripura district and 1 centre in Dhalai district. Around 4,500 candidates from West Tripura and 200 candidates from Dhalai are expected to appear for the exam.

He further stated that all examination centres will be secured with a two-tier security system, along with CCTV surveillance to ensure a fair and incident-free conduct of the examination. West Tripura Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak added that enhanced security measures have been put in place at multiple levels to maintain order and prevent malpractice.

In a separate announcement, Director of Higher Education Animesh Debbarma informed that the admission process for undergraduate courses in 29 degree colleges, including the newly announced Nalchhar Government Women’s College, will begin on May 29, 2026. The application window will remain open until June 7, 2026.

The entire admission process will be conducted in four phases from June 19 to July 6, 2026. Applications will be accepted only through online mode via the SAMARTH Portal. Each student will be allowed to apply for a maximum of four colleges.

For the academic year 2026–27, a total of 32,159 seats are available across state colleges for undergraduate admissions.
