Police from the East Agartala Police Station conducted a raid on Bijoya Palace Hotel located on BK Road in the capital city on Sunday afternoon following allegations of illegal activities at the premises. However, according to police sources, no significant evidence of unlawful activity was found during the operation.
Sources said that acting on a tip-off, a team from the East Agartala Police Station reached the hotel and searched several rooms. During the operation, allegations surfaced that police officials held a private discussion with the hotel owner midway through the raid. Local residents have further claimed that after the conversation, the remaining rooms of the hotel were allegedly not searched.
The incident has sparked questions and discussions in the area. Some locals have raised concerns over why all rooms were not inspected despite receiving what was described as a specific complaint regarding illegal activities. The matter has led to growing curiosity and suspicion among members of the public.
Following the raid, police stated that the search operation was conducted based on a complaint. Officials maintained that no substantial information or evidence linking the hotel to illegal activities was discovered during the search.
The incident has since become a topic of discussion across the city. A section of local residents has demanded a transparent investigation into the matter to avoid confusion and ensure public confidence in future actions related to such sensitive allegations.
