A man of unknown identity died after being hit by a passenger train running from Sabroom to Agartala on Sunday morning in the Gobindapara area under South Sonaichhari Gram Panchayat, Belonia subdivision.
Local reports say the incident took place around 8:00 a.m. when the train was en route to Agartala. The individual was struck on the railway track under unclear circumstances.
Soon after the accident, teams from Belonia Police Station along with railway officials reached the location. The body was recovered and later sent for post-mortem examination.
The deceased has not yet been identified, and his approximate age remains unknown. It is also not clear how he ended up on the railway track at the time of the incident.
Police have registered an unnatural death case and initiated an investigation. Authorities are working to establish the identity of the victim and determine the exact cause of the incident.
