Tripura Chief Secretary Jitendra Kumar Sinha today said the state is steadily strengthening its digital administration through multiple government initiatives.
He made the remarks while inaugurating a workshop titled “Tech Enabled” held at Pragya Bhavan, aimed at promoting digital empowerment in governance. The programme was organised by NICSI under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology in collaboration with the state government.
Speaking at the inauguration, Sinha highlighted that Tripura has already implemented several digital systems across departments. “The government has undertaken multiple initiatives to build a digital administration. Many areas of governance have already been digitised. An e-governance system is now functional from the Cabinet level down to Gram Panchayat level. Organisations like NIC and NICSI are playing a key role in this transformation,” he said.
He also noted the rollout of e-Office systems across state, district, and sub-division offices, along with e-billing in the power sector and e-hospital services in healthcare. According to him, these measures have improved efficiency, reduced delays, and increased transparency in public services.
Sinha added that Tripura is performing well among northeastern states in terms of digital infrastructure and expressed confidence that tech-enabled services will further enhance departmental efficiency in the coming years.
NICSI Managing Director Alok Tiwari, also present at the event, said the Tech-Enabled initiative has been introduced to further strengthen digital governance systems across states.
