Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury has reiterated that Chabimura, one of Tripura’s most picturesque tourist spots, is a matter of pride for the state and is being actively developed for greater global recognition.
Chairing a review meeting at the Secretariat, the Minister discussed ongoing beautification works at the site and strategies to ensure better management through coordinated efforts among all stakeholders.
The meeting included MLA Ranjit Das (Amarpur), TTAADC Executive Member Chandra Kumar Jamatia, Tourism Secretary Uttam Kumar Chakma, Tourism Director Prashanta Badal Nagi, along with officials from the Amarpur Sub-Division and representatives of the Chabimura and Devbari management committees.
The Minister stressed the importance of joint cooperation between the Tourism Department, local representatives, TTAADC administration, and community groups to build a more tourist-friendly infrastructure at Chabimura.
He further noted that the initiative aims not only to boost tourism but also to create local employment opportunities and improve income generation for nearby communities.
The discussion also focused on preparing a long-term development plan to preserve the natural and cultural significance of Chabimura while promoting it as an international-level tourist attraction.
