Heavy rains cause flooding in West Tripura; MP Biplab Deb assures swift rescue efforts

Relentless heavy rains have triggered severe flooding in several parts of West Tripura district, including the state capital Agartala.

As water levels continue to rise, many residents remain stranded in their homes, prompting urgent rescue and relief measures across the region.

In a social media post, Member of Parliament of BJP, Biplab Kumar Deb assured the public that he is in close coordination with the state government to monitor the evolving situation.

He emphasized that all possible steps are being taken to manage the crisis, including active coordination on rescue operations.

Deb who is also Ex Chief Minister of Tripura said that a total of 18 rescue teams have been deployed in the worst-hit areas of West Tripura. The deployment includes 3 teams from SDRF/NDRF, 2 teams from Assam Rifles, 2 from AMC, along with personnel from the Fire Service, Scouts and Guides, Civil Volunteers, and NCC Cadets.

MP Deb also mentioned that the administration is actively responding to the situation in other districts as per the local requirements.

He urged citizens not to panic and to reach out to the local administration for any assistance.

“Please stay alert and ensure your safety by remaining aware of your surroundings,” he appealed in his message to the public.
