In a significant push to boost eco-tourism in the state, Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Sunday chaired a high-level meeting to discuss the development of a world-class eco-tourism park at Ludhuwa Tea Estate in Sabroom, located in South Tripura district.
Highlighting Tripura’s untapped tourism potential, the minister said, “Tripura, being a picturesque hill state, is endowed with natural beauty at every turn. To showcase this rich natural heritage on the global tourism map, our government is working on developing top-tier tourist destinations across the state.”
The proposed eco-tourism park in Ludhuwa is part of a joint initiative between the state and central governments to strengthen Tripura’s tourism infrastructure and create sustainable avenues for local economic development.
Tourism Department Director Prashant Badal Negi, former MLA and noted social worker Shankar Roy, along with officials and local residents, visited the proposed site earlier today. They held in-depth discussions on the layout, facilities, and timeline for beginning construction of the project.
Chowdhury said the park will not only boost tourism but also create livelihood opportunities for the people of Sabroom and surrounding areas, adding that construction is expected to begin soon.
The initiative aligns with Tripura’s broader vision of promoting eco-friendly tourism while preserving the natural ecosystem of the region.
