To ensure a stable and uninterrupted power supply across the state during the monsoon season, Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath conducted a detailed review meeting at the corporate office of Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited.

The meeting focused on the state’s current power scenario, preparedness for weather-related challenges during the rainy season, and improving customer services. Senior officials, including the Managing Director of TSECL, attended the meeting, while officials from the Power Department of West Tripura, Sepahijala, and Khowai districts joined through virtual mode.

During the review, the Minister highlighted that maintaining uninterrupted electricity supply throughout the monsoon remains a key priority of the government. He directed all officials and employees to remain alert and ensure immediate action whenever power disruptions occur due to storms, heavy rainfall, or natural calamities.

The Minister instructed officials to treat every consumer complaint with urgency and ensure that issues are resolved within the shortest possible time. He also stressed the need for improving the prepaid electricity recharge system and advised authorities to adopt advanced technology in coordination with technical experts to prevent any inconvenience to consumers.

Emphasising the importance of essential services, the Minister directed that power supply must remain uninterrupted at hospitals, drinking water facilities, and critical government establishments during emergencies. He also asked officials to take adequate steps to provide reliable electricity to domestic and commercial consumers.

The meeting also reviewed several important areas, including 24-hour service readiness, electricity bill collection progress, speedy disposal of customer grievances, and departmental preparedness for handling monsoon-related emergencies.

The Minister further instructed that field-level electricity workers should remain active and that adequate manpower, tools, and equipment must always be available for quick response.

According to TSECL officials, special arrangements have already been made across different districts to tackle possible disruptions during the rainy season. Emergency response teams have been prepared, while essential materials such as transformers, cables, electric poles, and other repair equipment have been stocked to restore power services quickly in case of any emergency.
